The day after Christmas, the kids and I flew across the country to visit Bue Bui (my mom) who for the past 5 years has been living in Cali. Hubby stayed home..we were sad about that BUT, somebody has to make money so we can eat. lol
This was my first time traveling with 2 kids by myself..um, yeah...won't do that again. Kids were perfectly behaved, but I only have 2 eyes, 2 ears, 2 arms, you get the point. Thankfully, I have lots of patience. lol Getting in and out of the plane with 2 kids, one carry-on, a book bag, blankets, pillow, dolls etc was the most difficult part. I know I bumped a few people boarding the plane and getting off. Oops. And people were looking at me like I was a crazy lady. I tried letting most people off so they would not have to wait until I loaded up my Zoo but that wasn't always an option...getting off of our connect flight in Texas to GSP, I had 5 minutes to get to my gate (with 18 others), so I had to hurry and get off that plane.
This world many times reminds us of how cruel and mean a lot of people are but this trip like many other times, was a reminder that there are also so many good people with big hearts in this world as well:) I experienced so many acts of kindness through this trip. People helping me load and unload my carry-on on the plane, one lady even rolled it out for me (we sat next to each other and made friends on the plane). A sweet "angel" in the LAX airport that helped us out, if it wasn't for her, we would have missed our plane. Let me tell you what, people are scared to death of traveling next to kids and babies...tons of people passed my seat and kept going because I had 2 kids with me but on all of our flights, there was always 1 person who is a parent that loves children that was happy to sit with my babies and me. I had one guy walk by my seat and when he noticed I had 1 child and a baby, he said, "Oh, she has kids with her!" and kept walking. That type of thing doesn't make a mama feel good but it is what it is. Thankful for the sweet people I met on my trip. They made my heart smile.
We spent 10 awesome days in sunny California. It was sunny every day and in the high 60's low-mid 70's. It was wonderful but I missed my hubby something serious so I was ready to come home. Here are a few pictures from our trip. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Happy Saturday, friends!! XOXO
